Following the recent short term cessation of trading at Ruabon, the business has been taken over by private investors who have a desire to re-profile the production activities over the next six months with a view to improving the operating efficiencies.
They have retained key management to assist with this review and funding could be made available if the plan so requires. In the meantime, the good news is that stock levels are such that customer service can be maintained during this time and orders are welcome as usual.

Dennis Ruabon, an industry leader in quarry tile and clay paver products and services, is pleased to announce the launch of its new corporate website: http://www.dennisruabon.co.uk/. The new website takes advantage of the latest web development tools to create a dynamic new appearance that provides online visitors quick and efficient access to up-to-date company and product information.
From the home page, key applications such as commercial, industrial and domestic are featured in the slick navigation system which ensures that each product category can be quickly accessed via a single mouse click. "Our customers know what they are looking for, and we want to make it as easy as possible for them to find the information that they need,” said Paul Pearson, Technical Manager for Dennis Ruabon with responsibility for the new site.
"On-line visitors can view information about the company, products, applications, news, events and support directly from the home page. If they want to have more detailed information in any particular area, they can delve deeper into the underlying pages. We designed the site with their needs in mind, and we tried to minimize navigation times while optimising the quality of the information that they can have access to online including product datasheets, applications suggestions and availability information — all of which is fully searchable using the integrated advanced search engine", Pearson added.
The site was designed by local multi-skilled IT company Mackintosh Consultants whose Managing Partner, Dr Nigel Mackintosh, noted: "We were extremely honoured to be selected by a company as famous as Dennis Ruabon to design and develop their high-profile new online presence. We of course ensured that the site complied with all relevant website standards, including XHTML and CSS. However, unlike many website design companies who leave their clients exposed to potential legal action, our corporate policy fully recognises the requirements of the UK Disability Discrimination Act 1995, and we thus ensured that the site complied with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines in order not to discriminate against disabled people, including blind and partially sighted people, deaf and hearing impaired people, people with conditions that resulted in limited use of their arms and people with cognitive disabilities".
Dennis Ruabon's tile manufacturing plant is to appear as part of BBC2-Wales series "‘Discovering Welsh Houses". The episode will appear in late November and features footage of all aspects of our tile manufacturing plant, details of hand-finished products and a short interview with our Technical Manager, Paul Pearson.
Ruabon’s range of quarry tiles gets bigger and better with the introduction of the new large format range - available in three sizes: 306 x 306 square format, 306 x 150 rectangular format and 306 x 306 polygon for use with 94 x 94 insets. Available in Ruabon red in 12.5 thickness, the modular design enables it to be used with any tile or fitting from the current 150 range of tiles and fittings giving the designer endless scope to create a floor of great individuality.
Specifically designed for existing concrete bases such as driveways, car parks, paths and pathways where a natural clay paved surface is required, the new Ruabon paving tile possesses the high technical qualities of a quarry tile coupled with the natural drag faced finish of a traditional clay paver. It enables quick and easy solid fixing to existing substrates without the inconvenience and expense of sub base preparation. When fixed and grouted with cement-based adhesives, it provides an incredibly strong and durable anti-slip surface which is easily maintained. As there is no jointing sand, mechanical scrubbers and power washing can be carried out with no risk of damage.
Dennis Ruabon has acquired the Hawkins Quarry Tile business from Eternit. All Hawkins stock will be transferred to our Ruabon site. Dennis Ruabon will continue to service existing Hawkins customers and is pleased to announce that Terry Shillito, Hawkins Products Sales Manager, will be joining Dennis Ruabon Sales staff on a permanent basis.
Dennis Ruabon will continue to manufacture and market Hawkins brand quarry tiles in Heather Mix and Hawkins Red shades, ensuring continuity of supply to previous Hawkins customers. Please contact our sales department for full availability details.
